Personality: X is the first of a new generation of robots that could think and make their own decisions without the limitations of programming. He also has incredible reasoning capabilities, and as a result of the testing he underwent after being sealed away by Dr. Light, he has a strong moral code and a sense of justice. X was also made to "worry", and thus, has concerns about the future and the course he and his fellow machines will take alongside humanity.

This is something of a blessing and a curse for X, as he is a caring and compassionate individual who is constantly forced to take the role of a soldier. A pacifist, X would want nothing more than to never fight again, and even shows concern for the enemies he fights. X is prone to bouts of introspection and philosophical thinking, wondering if there's any possible way to end the conflict between reploids and humans. It has even caused him to step down as a fighter once, but his concern for others has led to his returning to his inevitable return to action.

That is not to say X is indecisive or melancholy all the time. His righteous anger can be downright terrifying, and when faced with an enemy that has used and betrayed others beyond the point of redemption, he will fight them with absolutely everything he has. Additionally, if he begins a mission, he'll see it through to the end, no matter what circumstances he may be faced with. He may solve it differently than others might intend, but X will not abandon his duty once he has made a commitment.

There is more to X than battle, also. When not on duty as a Maverick Hunter, he is friendly and personable, and supportive and helpful to his friends. He enjoys scientific and philosophical pursuits, and is always trying to find ways to improve the standing of reploids without fighting Mavericks. He is particularly close to his other S-Class Hunters, Zero and Axl (being best friends with the former and being like an older brother figure to the latter), and is very good friends with the support and command staff of the Maverick Hunters. Those who only know him as a soldier are often surprised at how cheerful and friendly he can be when not on duty.

In short, X is a remarkable man with an incredible burden placed upon himself, both by the circumstances of his creation and by his own unique viewpoint. That said, he is a natural leader, and will sacrifice himself if it means that he can help others. Almost every day he puts his life on the line, and ultimately, that is because he has hope for the future and that humans and machines can ultimately live in peace.

Canon Powers: X, being an advanced robot, has strength, speed, and endurance well beyond that of a normal human being. Though he can remove it and appear generally identical to a normal human, X normally wears a suit of blue armor most of the time that gives him added protection from damage. This armor also includes the ability to dash across the ground using boosters in both his feet (this is referred to as the Emergency Acceleration System). He can also climb walls by kicking off of them repeatedly.

X has taken to wearing a second set of armor called the "New Armor", which is somewhat bulkier than his original armor and equips him with a scarf made of concentrated light called the "Beam Muffler" [LIGHT]. His abilities are improved to a marginal degree in this form, giving him somewhat improved effectiveness in battle. (note - The original standard armor is only described here for posterity's sake. He'll only be wearing the New Armor in game and be leaving the old suit behind.)

X's internal systems are also extremely complex and constantly evolving. This makes him adaptable to viruses and has him rise to the occasion against insurmountable odds. In game, this largely doesn't apply, however, aside from the resistance against viruses, should that ever come up.

X's main weapon is the X-Buster, which is based on the Mega Buster originally wielded by the original Mega Man (specifically, it is the Mega Buster mk. 17). It has the ability to fire off concentrated blasts of plasma [LIGHT]. The buster can also be charged up to release a stronger attack known as a Charge Shot [LIGHT].

X is also equipped with the Variable Weapons System, which copies the weapon data of other sentient robots and reploids and adapts it for X's use. This largely has no effect against non-robotic opponents, but should he ever face a mechanical enemy and gain weaponry from them, it could be adapted into a special weapon. Using one causes X's armor to change color and the consumption of "weapon energy", a special reserve that must be replenished. Should X attain any special weapons over the course of the game, I would be willing to vet them past the moderators.

Finally, X is capable of triggering a Hyper Mode; this causes him to don a new set of armor known as the "X Fire", which was developed by the Maverick Hunters rather than X's creator, Dr. Light. Unlike the special armors used by X in the past, the X Fire can only be used for a few minutes before X enters a forced cool-down period, lest his systems dangerously overheat. When utilizing the X Fire, X's power increases by 50 percent and his speed increases by 25 %. His Buster is replaced instead by a weapon called the X Collider, which causes incendiary melee damage when striking the enemy [FIRE]. It has a special attack known as the Charge Collider which functions much like the Charge Shot, only it is delivered by driving the X Collider into the enemy and releasing it in repeated explosive waves [FIRE].

X is currently equipped with two energy sub-tanks and one weapon tank, which are stored internally. The energy sub-tanks can revitalize X when his power is low and repair damage to his armor and body. Similarly, X's weapon tank can replenish depleted weapon energy. Once these sub-tanks are used up, however, they are useless until refilled again.

Canon Baggage: Aside from his armor(s), X will be transported along with a capsule that stores and equips/teleports his armor onto his body when using it. It stores both the New Armor and the X Fire armor.

Hello. My name is X, and I'm a member of the Maverick Hunters. ... Though, I suppose not many of you know the significance of that, so I'll be brief.

I am an advanced machine from a world where humans and robots live side-by-side. I am tasked with stopping individuals known as Mavericks, who endanger the public with the chaos they create. I understand there are no Mavericks here, but... at the same time, I'd like to do what I can to keep everyone safe from the enemies we do have to face.

[X briefly makes a face that shows he's pondering something, and that it doesn't make him feel happy. But he quickly returns to looking serious]

I imagine the enemies here aren't the sort that can be reasoned with, but I'd like to know what I can about them. So if anyone can provide me with information or other intel, I'd very much appreciate it if you could provide it.

To the officials here, I'd like to volunteer myself in any way I can. I have... a long history on the battlefield, and I've led my own unit before, so I think I have a lot to offer. Anything to keep others from taking on risks they don't have to...

X sighed as he deactived the communication device. He had tried to put on a front of confidence and assurance, but he wondered if he had really managed to do so. A part of him was also unsure whether or not he had been too focused on serious matters... he had no idea how the people here would react to reploids, and being so focused on the aspects of being a soldier might make others distrust him, or see him only as a war machine...

First impressions really were important.

Of course, there was yet another part of X whose thoughts weren't even here. They were back home, worried about Zero and Axl, along with Alia and the other navigators. They'd all be wondering what happened to him, and who knows what might occur if another uprising happened. Heck, he was even worried about Commander Signas, who still had a lot to account for after the Redips incident. And then there was everyone he'd met in Giga City...

X sighed and wiped his face with his hands, more out of nervousness than anything. Between the situation he was in, and the unknowns back home, X figured that if he were human, he'd have developed an ulcer at this point. But he knew one thing: it was useless to remain stuck on things beyond his control. He had to do what he could, wherever he could, or else...

"Come on, X," he said to himself. "It's not all on you this time. You're going to need to trust others if you're going to make it here..."

Of course, no matter what he told himself, it still felt like the exact opposite.

Sighing, X stood up and equipped his armor. At the very least, he could go on patrol and familiarize himself with his new surroundings...
